Egg and Cheese Dishes

Egg and cheese recipes are probably as old as the history of cooking, itself. Archeological records indicate that eggs were eaten at least

3400 years ago and maybe as far back as 6000 years coresponding to the domestication of the chicken in China. They are an excellant source of protein and fat. Cheese is also a very old product and was thought to have helped humans expand into colder climates by providing a storable form of concentrated protein to eat during winter months.

In any event, egg and cheese complement each other perfectly in terms of taste so it was inevitable that these two items would be combined into all kinds of cooking.
